President, Christopher Koch
Since starting as a field tech in 1996, Christopher has held a variety of roles in damage prevention including supervisor, trainer, training manager, and executive. In 2004 as Senior Director of Training and Safety for UtiliQuest, he designed and implemented a training program that reduced damages by 50% in just one year. More recently, he co-authored the book "Locating Buried Utilities, A Professional Approach" and appeared in a multi-part training series available through Excavation Safety University. He also developed a four credit, underground utility locating course for Southside Virginia Community College where he served as an adjunct faculty member.
An industry leader, Christopher has served on the board of the National Utility Locating Contractors Association since 2001 including terms as Secretary, Vice-President, and President. In 2009, he co-chaired the committee to revise the NULCA Professional Competence Standard for Locate Technicians. Christopher has spoken at numerous conferences and published dozens of articles on locating issues. He holds a bachelors degree with honors from St. Cloud State University and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Capella University.
Associate Consultant, Oliva Herrera
A bilingual (English and Spanish) expert in Damage Prevention, Oliva has helped develop literally thousands of technicians in the last two decades. In 2006 as a manager for one of the nation's largest locating companies, she was responsible for operations in and around Washington, D.C., including Andrews Air Force Base, home of Air Force One. Between 2008 and 2010, she managed and directed operations for two seperate firms in Perth, Western Australia performing high profile SUE work for the mining and construction industries as well as the government. While abroad, Oliva served as an advisory member to Australia's One-Call and was a member of Australian NULCA.
